Network Design For Hubs and Switches Samples â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the Network Design For Hubs and Switches. Answer: Local Area Network Design The company will be well suited by a Transmission Control Network/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Network. The design will require the use of two hubs and five switches as per the network diagram below. There will be two Virtual Private Network enabled routers, one on the first floor and the other one on the second floor. Each Virtual Private Network (VPN) enabled router will be connected to a modem which allows them to access the internet and connect to the other router. The router will also be connected to a 24-port switch which will bring the 24-port hubs into a central connection with the router. The hubs and switches will be connected to the work stations. The workstations on the Second floor will use one router since the area covered is smaller and can be reached by Ethernet cables specified[1]. The switch from the router will connect to the sales department and to the marketing department. The number of workstations in the sales department is more than our switch or hub can hold and therefore we will use a switch and a hub both connected to the main switch connecting to the router and each connecting fifteen workstations. The Switch is the best to use to interconnect the hubs since they will all be transmitting data packets to the same destination and therefore the information relay problems common with hubs may not be experienced. The General Support department on the first floor will also be connected with a switch and a hub since they all have a maximum of 23 workstations to carry and the department has 30 workstations. Each switch and hub will, therefore, be entitled to fifteen workstations as illustrated by the network diagram below. Recommendation for Local Area Network wiring I would recommend the company to use Gigabit Ethernet which transmits data in form of Ethernet frames at a super-fast speed of one gigabit in every second[2]. The specified ethernet cable is incomparably faster from the other commonly used ethernet cables. They are also economical due to their low price and guaranteed speed. The gigabit ethernet cables will need the switch to be Gigabit switches for compatibility. The system can Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) or just a normal Gigabit switch that can connect the Gigabit fast ethernet cables. In their design, the Gigabit Fast Ethernets are logically into two divisions, the Media Access Control (MAC) and the Physical Layer Interface(PHY). The Media Access Controller deals with issues of availability of the medium of sending or receiving the ethernet packets while the Physical Layer Interface deals with the relay of the packets[3]. This guarantees the Ethernet's availability provided the network is up and running. This helps in attaining the high speeds the cables operate in. Recommendation for Local Area Network topology and protocol The best topology to use in our setup is the star topology. The topology applies the use of one central hub that connects to all the other workstations through the ethernet cables. The topology may seem expensive to set up due to its high demand for ethernet cables but it is the best due to its ease of communication. Any workstation will be able to communicate by all the other workstations in sharing the same hub. It is possible to replace one workstation which fails in the topology without affecting the operation of the rest. Additional of another workstation in the setup will also have no negative effect on the setup. The topology thus proves best since when a node is not functional or is in a breakdown condition, the rest system remains operational. It would be better to use the TCP/IP protocol to the great simplification it has in the design, maintenance and troubleshooting the network system. When using TCP/IP, it is easy to detect any error that occurs in the Network system and correct it compared to other protocols[1]. The network will, therefore, be easy to use and understand even for those with no networking experience. The network protocol also makes it easy to upgrade the network if need be may be in future. It is common for network systems to be upgraded as companies continue to grow. It would be beneficial, therefore, if the network was designed in a way that during upgrading, only new workstations and devices will be added in the network system. Other protocols may not have room for expansion. In our design, it is possible to add eight extra machines in any router of the sales department without tampering with the already configured devices all the speed of access of data. Using TCP/IP ensures connection and communication in the networked devices regardless of their hardware systems. The use of Internet Protocol (IP address) ensures compatibility of all the networked devices with no regard to systems capabilities or Operating system e.g., a windows workstation can be connected to the switch together with a Linux workstation and both will communicate and function properly which is also a benefit. Floor plan The marketing department is smaller in terms of workstations since it only has ten workstations. It will, therefore, be suitable to hold the server room and all other workstations will be connected from here. The Sales department has thirty workstations which will be split into two, one using a hub and the other to use a switch. References P. The Motives Of Jeffrey Dahmer Essays - , Term Papers
The Motives Of Jeffrey Dahmer The Motives of Jeffrey Dahmer It's a beautiful day. The sun is out and the birds are chirping. Breakfast is ready and the kids are actually cooperating with their morning rituals preparing for school. You sit down at the kitchen table with a steaming cup of coffee, breathing in serenity, as you begin to indulge yourself into the morning paper. And that's when it happens. ?HOUSE OF HORRORS UNCOVERED WITH THE ARREST OF LOCAL CANNIBAL KILLER,? is what the headline read. To the cynics, this would not create much concern. But, for most of us in the summer of 1991, the horrors that were uncovered in apartment 213 on Milwaukee's North 25th St. sent shockwaves through the country. Jeffrey Dahmer commanded the attention of all America, creating a buzz about the term ?cannibal? and resparking debates about the phenomenon of the serial killer. When the carnage was over the body count had risen to 17. All of Dahmer's victims were minority men. Typically Dahmer would go to a gay bar, seduce a chosen man, and bring him back to his apartment. He often lured them to his place by offering them money to take nude photos of them. Once they were in his apartment they would drink and have sex. At some point Dahmer would mix up a drink with powdered Halcion and give it to the victim. The Halcion immediately made the victim pass out. Once the victim was unconscious he would continue to have sex with them. His next step was to kill them by strangulation. When the victim was deceased Dahmer would then have sex with them again before the process of dismemberment began. Dahmer chopped up his victims. Some of the body parts were eaten by Dahmer and saved in the freezer. The other parts of the body ended up in a barrel of acid Dahmer had concocted to disintegrate the cadavers. What kind of a human being does this? If we could find what motivates one to commit such atrocities, wouldn't we be able then to recognize these scenarios in the future in order to stop them. In the following pages I will research what motivated Jeffrey Dahmer to kill. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer on May 21, 1960. During Jeffrey's childhood, Lionel had gotten through his bachelors and masters degrees. He was in the process of a grueling Ph.D when Jeffrey started getting into trouble. Because of the lack of time on Lionel's hands, he asked a local probation officer to probe young Jeffrey to find the source of his troubles. Jeffrey confessed to the probation officer that a neighborhood boy had sexually molested him. Don Davis' book, The Milwaukee Murders, quotes the probation officer as saying that perhaps that incident ?may be the reason why Jeffrey has problems with sexuality issues.? The Milwaukee Murders also reports that Jeffrey's classmates had a hard time connecting with him. Jeffrey was very polite, neat, and willing to please, flashing a gentle smile when he was complimented. Jeffrey was obsessed with dismemberment. From the age of 12 he would kill stray animals and perfect his technique. He concocted a brew of a cids that would strip the flesh right off the bone. Dahmer would later use this technique on his human victims. By contrast, Dahmer displayed a classic passive/aggressive personality. ANSWER ME!; issue 2; 1992, reports that Jeffrey's parents screamed at each other all the time and eventually got a divorce by the time he finished high school. After the divorce, Jeffrey's mother took his younger brother and moved to Wisconsin, leaving Jeffrey behind. Dahmer always did feel closer to his Mother and felt greatly abandoned by her leaving. He was very smart, academically. He felt as though his father didn't value him much. ?There was not much of a bond,? Dahmer later said. ANSWER ME! also reports that, in an attempt to win over friends in school, Jeffrey tried to be the class clown. His efforts were in vein, as his attempt at humor was not well received. So, what does it all mean? Does it sound all that unusual? My conclusion is that I have found that there is something

Sachar essays The book Holes is written by Louis Sachar and it is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The setting of the story is at Camp Green Lake which was described as a camp instead prison for bad children. The book derives its name from the punishment the children had to endure, the exact punishment was digging holes, it was thought to build character. The camp is on a dried up lake bed that has had no rainfall for 110 years. Stanley Yelnats came from a poor family. His father was an inventor, who constantly tried to invent shoes that would never fall apart. One boring old day, while walking home from school a pair of shoes fell from the sky and hit him on the head. He took this as a sign regarding to his fathers inventions. However, the shoes belonged to a famous athlete who was auctioning the shoes to help a local charity. As soon a the shoes were reported missing, a policeman found Stanley with the shoes and accused him of stealing. Stanley soon after went to trial and no one would believe him about the shoes falling from the sky. The judge gave the parents a choice; prison, or Camp Green Lake. Since the parents were too poor to afford to send him to Camp when he was little, they decided that it would be fun for him to go.
