My Personal Philosophy of Education :: Philosophy of Education Statement Teaching

An educator means that you are someone who cares and needs to see children be successful in your ground level and in their futures. The reason I want to endure an educator is to make a difference in a childs liveliness. I have worked with children for over seven years and everyday I spend with a child I learn someone new, about them and about myself. I want to give back to the community in which I was raised. I want to show them that they have helped make me become what I am today. A teacher can make a difference in a childs life to the good or bad if they went into the field for the wrong reason. I want to be remembered for the one who helped and made a difference a child?s life and alike as good role model. In my classroom I would like to arrange the desk in a semi-circle and I want a sit at the head of the circle and than the circle will be complete. That way I will be able to see all of the children faces when complicated in class discussion or in-group activities. This will show the educatees that I am equal and no one is better or less than the other. I still want my students to see me as the teacher and not a playmate when it comes to learning and see that I am in control of the class not them. I want them to be able to express what they are feeling and not be afraid that someone is going to put them down. On my bulletin boards I want to place work and coloring pictures that the students have brought in or did in class. I want to work with every student not just a selected few. I do not want to leave anyone out I want them to be proud of their work. I would also like to have bulletin board with an historical theme such as up coming holidays, where the students can go and learn through polar fun activities like coloring pages and information sheets that are on the board.

Branded (Christian) :: essays research papers

The book Branded, by Alissa Quart is an amazing book that talks about how much money, time, and energy is fatigued by our corporate subtlety to effectively change the lives and habits of teenagers. The book is written by, and she does a marvelous job of documenting the teenage-corporate-media relationship throughout American history. With degrees from Brown University and Columbia, her news media and research skills ar unparalleled. Every statement and point is backed up by countless facts, studies, and statistics that leave no room for doubt. These truths are coupled with nice and powerful real-life illustrations that further prove the books powerful message that relates to teenagers, culture, and money. The book really made me sack what a strong effect the culture has on children. I guess I always knew this was true, but could never really understand why it was true until I read this book. The book goes beyond opinions and corporate bashing and instead focuses on hard eviden ce that has been compiled from what seems like years of research. The stories, policies, and tactics revealed of how corporations influence kids and teenagers are frightening, and societys response (or lack of) is level off more disturbing. What surprised me most about Branded were the real life examples of how teenagers were being effected by corporate power and propaganda. One example showed of how the painting heroes and heroines of the seventies and eighties were teenagers who overcame the rich, snobbish bullies who thought that they were better than everyone else. Then the book shows of how a paradigm shift occurred and that now the upper class, rich, and snobbish people are the role models. They are what teenagers want to force today. Movie such as Clueless, Varsity Blues and Shes All That present the blondest, most stylish, richest, and elite people as the new heroes and heroines. In Shes All That, a teenager is even saved from individualism and nerdiness and eventually i n transformed in a supermodel beauty queen that eventually is accepted by her high schools elite group. The message is powerful, and throughout the book you start to realize how deranged a teenagers culture has become. Another powerful Alissa Quart made that coincided with the one above is how influential style and fashion has become to teenagers. Branded makes a strong argument that shows how corporations and media are started to create teenage personalities for them to fit into.

Emotion and Diction in Richard Wright’s Book Black Boy :: Richard Wright’s Black Boy

Emotion and Diction in Richard Wrights Book Black Boy passim Richard Wrights book Black Boy, which represented his life, Richard used great emotion to verbalize us how he was and what he may have been feeling. He as well as referred the book to his own life by using examples and making them as evidence in the book. His techniques and diction in this book gave a fire to his musical composition and a voice towards how it was for him growing up. Richard Wrights main use was Pathos, which means emotion, to show us how he was feeling while he was writing this book. Was he anger or sad, excited or depressed. It all shows in his writing. I like the statement, Dick, look, youre black, black, black see? Cant you understand that? The itinerary he used his emotion and it was like he was using anger in his writing to make a point. By saying Cant you understand that? tells me that back in this time that there is something wrong with being black unlike today. Then other personal manner in which he introduces emotion to us is by using the italicized words. For example, now and black. Doing this to these words give in a little more flavor and excitement. Then diction became another way in which he showed how one acts, how the scenery looks, and just describes the characters in different ways. In the statement He lit a cigarette and blew out mickle leisurely gives me a sense that the guy is some heavy weighted main that does not care and does what ever his heart pleases. Then in another statement like Suddenly Griggs reached for my arm and jerked me violently, sending me stumbling three or four feet across pavement. So if you were to read on you would know that he was doing that to read Richard a lesson. But instead you got this picture in your mind of some man throwing down a child trying to hurt him. That is how strong Richard Wrights diction is. So then when you read on it tells you that Richard is growing up and is learning about life. Then we have the evidence in which Richard Wright used to show how he feels and what happened to him in his life. First of all what we have to remember is that this book is basically prototype to his life.
